At the weekend Ireland's Sunday Independent carried an article about Chinese brothels in the Dublin area posing as massage parlours and advertising in classifieds sections of newspapers:
Well done. Great job. One year ago however, I wrote a story about Chinese brothels in the Dublin area posing as massage parlours and advertising in classifieds sections of newspapers:
It's the same story. They both deal with the fact that classifieds are being used to advertise, they both mention the fact that there are a number of places operating, possibly as a network, they both carry a response from the gardai, they both make mention of the possibility of human trafficing being involved and they both cite the case of a Chinese prostitute who was found dead in Belfast. They only difference is that I actually went into one of the places in question. I wouldn't mind but when my article was published we circulated a press release to the major newspapers to see if they wanted to carry the story too. None of them, including the Indo, went for it. Pah!
